New York Comic Con Conclusion, Zafaria, and Food For Thought...

Hey Gang,

So it's been a while since I have posted on the blog (almost a month). I'm really sorry for the delay, and I'm going to try to post more often for a few personal reasons.

There's a ton to talk about today, so I best get started:

First, I should probably tell you how New York Comic Con ultimately went. Let me tell you; this event was definitely one I'll remember. I got to see a load of exclusive game footage, received a ton of exclusive items, and went to amazing exclusive panels (did I mention it was exclusive?). I also got to demo some great games including Star Wars: The Old Republic (let me tell you, this game looks amazing for all you Star Wars and MMO fans out there!), Halo Anniversary, and The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. I even got to make my own Decipticon for Transformers Universe Online (his name is DeathShark)! I also got to meet a friend of mine for the first time, Paige Whisper (we meet through Wizard101). We had a great time running around New York City, and I think it definitely made our friendship stronger.

All in all, it was a great experience, and I'm extremely grateful to everyone who listened to me fan-girl over everything I saw as well as the people who granted me this insanely awesome privilege! I'll be sure to post some pictures in the bottom of the post!

In much more recent news, a BRAND NEW world has come upon Legendary Wizards! In case you didn't know (who didn't?), this new world is called Zafaria! You can find out all about the update notes here at the Game Updates page on the Wizard101 site in case you haven't seen them yet. Zafaria is an African and Indian inspired world that focuses on continuing the Celestia storyline, meaning that we're going to see more of the Umbra Queen. There are four main tribes in Zafaria; the Lions, the Zebras, the Elephants, and the Apes. Of course, there are a bunch of less important new monsters, such as the hyenas and the rhinos as well. The basic story behind Zafaria is finding a group of Wizards studying abroad in Zafaria and their teacher, Umlilo the Flameingo (that's right; Fire Flamingos!). In trying to find this group of missing students (most, if not all, modeled after community leaders ;D) you also get wrapped up in Baobob politics (pronounced: Bay-oh-bob), and things get ... messy.

For those of you that do not have access to the Test Realm, here are some pictures of Zafaria:

This is a picture of Valdus rescuing one of the students studying abroad in Zafaria. You save her after defeating the king of a certain Lion tribe. According to Cassandra GriffinDreamer, this student represents Fallon ShadowBlade! Awesome! :)

This is the Star School Teacher in a city called Zamuda in Zafaria, home to the Zebras. You can activate the pillar at level 64, however as we're about to see, you cannot learn it's spells until Level 66.

A risky new Star School spell, Beserk increases the amount of damage put on you by 40% to give you a +30% damage boost for four rounds. This spell is not available until level 66 and should only be practiced by brave wizards. ;)

Finally a new Star School spell that supports healing! EXACTLY what we've been asking for, KingsIsle (or at least me anyway)! Mend gives +20% healing for the four rounds (ok, so it's not MUCH of a boost, but hey, it's something :D).

This was an interesting picture I took in Stone Town, home of the Olyphants (A.K.A. Elephants). As you can see in the screenshot, the merchant talks about how she wants to visit "common" stops in the Spiral. Two of those worlds (Marleybone and MooShu) we already know. HOWEVER, if you look very closely, she mentions two worlds we've never EVER heard of before; Avalon and Polaris. I'll probably make another post soon to theorycraft on these two worlds, but my basic summary is this; Avalon is going to be a King Arthur themed world, and Polaris will be an Arctic theme (no, not like GrizzleHiem; think more Santa Clause, Polar Bears, and Penguins type of world). Just thought that was an interesting note to touch upon...

One of the towers where you fight a boss (not an actual tower; just a place where you fight a boss). I haven't gotten far enough into the story of Zafaria to talk about what this black stone is (and know my facts, that is), but it seems to be connected to Morganthe, and it also seems to corrupt people using it. Umlilo can also be seen in the photo. :)

This is a picture of the Sun School trainer in the Drum Jungle of Zafaria. You can activate the trainer by completing a quest at level 66. It should be noted that you also need to have access to the Drum Jungle to accept the quest.

One of the two new Sun School spells that shall replace Gargantuan in many decks. With +50 more damage, I'm sure it will be a valued tool to all "Transcended" Wizards ;).

Another picture in the Drum Jungle. This is of the Ape village which is deeply plagued by black stones mentioned above. This is one of my favorite areas of Zafaria (as you can see by my many pictures of it, haha!). I really like the Ape tribe and their village, and I think their history is very unique and interesting :)

This is the HUB of Zafaria, or in other terms the "commons" of Zafaria. It's called the Baobob Crossroads, and it really does look like a basic mixture of all the lands of Zafaria combined. It's a beautiful place :). That Zebra to the right, Inyanga WhiteStripes, is the "main quest-giver" so to speak (comparable to Edith Benchley).

The Savannah region of Zafaria. This land is mainly dominated by the Lions, although some Zebras live there as well. The Savannah is extremely pretty and the wildlife there is fantastic.

This is a dungeon you go through in a part of Stone Town. Again, you can see this reoccurring black rock that corrupts the different factions of Zafaria. The dungeon was extremely interesting, but be careful! A cheating boss lies in there, waiting for you to test him!

This is the Baobob Market, and its the first area you go through (other than the Baobob Crossroads, that is). This is where you can access Stone Town and the Drum Jungle. It's an interesting beginning taste to Zafaria.

Here's the crown of the Baobob Crossroads; this is where all the "action" happens. Here you can find the Library, Zeke and the Seamstress, student dorms, and even political scandals. Not only is this place beautiful, but it's also the center of all social life here in Zafaria.

Lastly, this is a look at the outside of Zamuda. You can see the amazing arching Zebra statues that guard the way into the cities. The flora and fauna are also amazingly beautiful as well. To the right, there's an amazing river. Truly beautiful. :)

~~~~~~~
Lastly, I wanted to touch on an issue that's been encroaching its way into many wizard's real lives:
For many of the twizards of the Spiral, this is their first year in High School or their last year in Middle School. Let's say Bob goes up to his friend Timmy at lunch time. Bob starts talking about this amazing new world in Wizard101 called Zafaria that just hit the Test Realm, but Timmy's not impressed. In fact, Timmy says Wizard101 is for little kids, and a game is only cool if it's rated 'T' or 'M'. So the big question here is; what does Bob do? Does he quit or does he stick up for the game?
Many people would say he should probably quit, because it's just a game after all, and Wizard101 IS in fact aimed at children. Besides, there are some really cool 'M' games, right? ALL the cool kids play 'M' games. There are tons of other games out there, and chances are, Bob's probably going to find another game that he feels just as passionately about.
What people fail to realize is that this problem is deeper than just quitting a game. It's more than giving up Wizard101 for a more "mature" game. The fact is, Bob is being faced with peer pressure. His friends are making fun of him for playing an 'E' game, because children can play 'E' games, which automatically makes him immature.
And, a personal note to all those people against 'E' rated games, PLEASE realize what 'E' stands for. 'E' does not stand for "Child" but for "Everyone". It's geared towards all ages, whether 6 or 66. This, by no means, means any person who plays 'E' games is immature, or a child, and they are just as much a gamer as another person who plays an 'M' rated game.
This is one reason why I really dislike the ESRB rating system. If people saw a game with less "Parental Warnings" versus one with more, there wouldn't be the huge gap of people that there are when it comes to 'E' v.s. 'M'. It's almost like labeling a game.
Maybe I'm just ranting. Anyway, I hope I got my point across to anyone that needed it. And if it wasn't clear; stand up for what you believe in. Tell your friends, family, or whomever it may be that criticizes you that the games you play don't reflect your maturity.Be passionate about what you play. I really hope that helps people. :)
On my final note, I MIGHT be going to PAX East in late April! I'm really excited, and I'll be sure to bring you more news as it comes...
See you in the Spiral!
My Opinons on the Wizard's Watchtower
Hey Gang,
For those of you who have access to the Test Realm (and even some of you who don't), you'd know that there are two new houses available at the Crowns Shop (10,000 a pop, or 100,000 gold). Well, one of these houses (my favorite of the two, actually) is called the Wizard's Watchtower (the other is called the Sunken Palace). Today I'm here with you to talk about my opinions of this new house (and maybe some other time I'll talk about the Sunken Palace. I'm going to start with some things I liked about the house, and then move on to the things that can be improved (Note: I've actually started decorating in the Test Realm because I'm pre-planning for a party I'm gonna have for Halloween, so your going to see some housing items):
1. Hallway on the Second Floor: I really like the look of this hallway on the second floor of the Wizard's Watchtower. It gives a really good castle feel, and the mosaics of the dragon only enhance the feel! The carpet blends in very well too, tying the whole room together without you having to even place a housing item! Good job KingsIsle!
2. Dragon Statue, Dragon Feet Columns, and the general Second Floor (Library-like Room): This is just ... wow. First (and most obvious), the dragon statue is great! I love the fire coming out of its mouth. And the fact it's standing on top of the main circular bookshelf just makes this preinstalled feature even more amazing. I also like the library feel of the second floor. Another well done KingsIsle :).
3. Observatory: The view is stunning in this room. And the size of the telescope is huge! The mosaics of the dragon are a nice pull together of the room, and I really like the wood floor and the preinstalled wallpaper. Very nice!
4. Opening Room: The opening room is stunning as you see the giant library pillar pulling the room together. Again, I really like the library feel and the dragon decor.
5. Staircase to the Dragon: Again, this part of the house gives me that "castle" feel that I absolutely love about a home. The rug is a nice touch, and I love the preinstalled torches and banners of dragons.
6. Dragon's Lair (Smog/Hobbit Reference): When I saw this, I literally laughed out loud. If you've ever read (or seen) The Hobbit, you'd know who Smog is, and you'd know how this scene was inspired. Bottom line: AWESOME!
tehehe, anyway, let's move on ...
7. Dragon Claw Lagoon: I really like this feature because it gives the house a location. It tells you, "Hey, your house isn't just on a random island. Your house is centered around a giant and probably ancient statue of a dragon claw". I like anything that gives my house a better definition. :)
8. Castle Entrance: This is just a really cool sight. Again, like the dragon claw statue, it gives your house a location: on the top of a waterfall. I really like the glowing orbs on the pedestals and the dragon keeping watch over the entrance of your house, as well as the observatory in the backround. Very pretty :).
Things That Could Change (This is where I can have some fun!):
1. The Dragon Claw Lagoon: When I first walked around in the house, I thought that little opening in the rope fence was telling me to venture into the whirlpool of a lagoon. When I found out it was just there for looks, I was pretty disappointed. We should be able to go into the whirpool. It could lead into a secret dungeon or cave full of water. Heck, it could lead into a half underwater zone of your house! I'll revisit this point later...
2. The Random Rope: I don't have much to say about this point, since it's pretty short and simple. I'm not sure if you can see it in the picture, but the lowest arch has a rope fence preventing you from going under this. I'd really just like to know why. There doesn't seem to be a reason for it (it looks big enough to travel under) and it really downgrades the look of the house.
3. The Dragon's Lair: This place is perfect as is, except for one small thing. I want to be able to place housing items in this area. As of the current moment, you cannot do so. I'm not sure if this is a current bug, but I have some housing items that would make this room cooler than it is now.
4. This Wall (in the entrance of the staircase): Now this isn't a mandatory change (just an idea suggestion), but why not move the spiral staircase behind this wall and make this room more like a side room instead of a tiny room with a huge spiral staircase in it. I'd also like the ability to place housing items in this room as well.
5. Another Wall (in a the hallway direct before the hallway filled with mosaic windows): Again, this is a great opportunity to add a secret room or hallway. Or better yet, make it another part of the house. It just seems like a loose end that could make the house a lot better than it is currently.
6. Series of Bookshelves: Another secret room suggestion. They could make this another spiral staircase to the dungeon or cave that the Dragon Claw Lagoon leads to. I personally think this a very good idea, but hey, we all have our opinions, right?
7. The Observatory: I'd like to make a side part of this room directly where the camera is pointed to be designated as a bedroom. There are only a few houses with designated bedrooms, and to me it kinda defeats the purpose of a home if your wizard doesn't have a place to sleep. Also, make a spiral staircase from the hallway to this room instead of teleporting me there (since we do see it as a tower from the outside).
Well, that's what I would change! Feel free to voice your opinions on what I thought or tell me what you like/ want to see changed! Until next time!
New Things I'm Interested in on The Live Realm? Member Recruiting Advice?
Hey Gang,
So I know, the title isn't too catchy. Anyway, if you've been reading this blog for quite some time, you'd know that I don't really post patch notes. Sure, sometimes I'll have a link set up, or sometimes I'll talk about an addition or two; but I never really copy and paste the notes onto a blog post. Why? For two reasons: One, I feel it's an excuse for a blog post. Many people who copy and paste the notes don't write anything else, or their reflections on it. Two, because chance are some odd twenty people have probably already posted them, so what's the point in being 21st?
Anyway, so you can find the patch notes here.
It's funny; I first heard these updates were out right after I had put up a blog post on Monday, haha. I missed my chance to talk about it then. So, I'm coming to you now about what I think of some of the items:
1. Celestian Observatory: This house is a little small; the only reason I could think to craft it is because of either a) You like the surroundings, or b) You want the PvP circle. Now, the items to get this aren't too hard to craft ... my only issue is the SunStone. The only place I am able to get this rare stone is in the Chancel or the Trial of the Spheres (right now we aren't counting the Bazaar). And even then, only the bosses will drop it. So, you have two choices to get some SunStone in your pockets: either a) You farm the bosses until you get bored from exhaustion, or b) you spend all the money you're trying to save up to buy some recipes on the SunStone in the Bazaar. I'm starting to question why they took SunStone away from the Aqua Bots and stuff. Besides them, no one really drops it. In fact, I'd even be ok if the Aqua Bots only dropped SandStone; it still makes my life a bit easier. Anyway, off the topic of SandStone and SunStone, Mycin's been doing pretty well. He's almost there; he only needs 5 more Crystal Street Lamps (and he also just needs to buy the stinking recipe, so that means a lot of Chancel runs; hey, I'm always open to guests that can handle the dungeon). My overall opinion on this house? They way I see it, they could make three changes to this to make it better (listed from some-what possible to least possible): a) Make the reagents easier to find or have the recipes call for less of them, b) Lessen the number of items needed to craft the house, or c) Make the house a bit bigger.
Celestian Tropical Island Getaway: This is a nice little homey house. Now, if it were not for the floating rug glitch, in all honesty, I probably wouldn't have bought it on Valdus; I probably would have went with the Dragon's Fjord. The house seems really small to me, with the exception of the house rug trick, from, what I can see, extends pretty far back. I must say though; I REALLY love the Indiana Jones reference. That stone in the house is quite honestly amazing. One thing I've come to find with both the new houses is that they're kinda tough to decorate. With such little room (even though both hold 250 items inside and outside), it's hard to fit all my junk :P
No Caps Update: Now, this didn't effect me at all, cause i have open chat. So, honestly, I can't post my opinion on this, because quite frankly I don't have one. I can't have one, because of my lack of experience with the patch. Do I think it's right? Not necessarily. For grammar sticklers like me, this is very annoying. Do I think it's the correct way to solve the cursing problem? No, not exactly. People can still say all those words that sound similar to curse words; they just can't make it as obvious that they're cursing. You know what I think is the best way to solve the cursing? The report button! Remember readers; as Jester from Central says, "The report button is your friend," (Yeah, I don't like him too much, but that quote is so true). If you see someone cursing or using inappropriate language around the filter, report them. If you see harassment, report them. Now, I'm not saying report everyone for everything. I'm just saying that, if you see someone breaking the rules, privately report them (make sure you have the correct reason too! Also, you might wanna make sure your reason for reporting is legitimate). Also, another decent fix to making players' curses not so obvious is to only caps certain letters; for example, I's and/or the first letter of every sentence. Again, I don't think it's the best way to fix it, but still; if that's how they want it to be done, that's their choice.
I haven't really been doing much else really. I've had a ton of school work, and I'm also trying to get three friends to try the game out. I've got one hooked, but he's a mac user, and you have to buy the mac conversion form of the game. I've got another that's undecided, but is leaning towards no, which is kinda sad. I haven't even tried the last one yet, but I wanna wait and see if I can get the support of the first two before I try him for his money.
Also, I've been preforming an experiment for people who want their friends to join, but wont (people like me). The toughest people to recruit are people that are around 14-18. This is because, most of us kids that play MMO's around this age wanna see some blood, gore, and other things that rated T or even M. A lot of us want fast action. We don't really have the patience or time to try a game that's based on complete and udder strategy. Also, Wizard101, in the beginning of the game, is aimed towards younger children, which is also a turn off for teenage kids. It's only later in the game that they start targeting more hardcore gamers; worlds like DragonSpyre, Celestia, and even tiny bits of MarleyBone and Mooshu.
So, I decided to try an experiment. A while back (about two months ago), when I originally introduced Subject A to the game, I decided to play along side him to hopefully help him out a bit; because I know I was VERY confused with the game play. After I had Subject A finish his Spiral Session, he seemed OK, and he thought it was decent, but later he described it as "boring". So, since now (two months later) I have another two friends I wanna get involved (Subjects B and C), I decided to test something.
WARNING: I am going to go all Kevin Battlebloodish on you now, ahaha! No offense to Kevin; just a warning that it's gonna get a bit scientific.
Hypothesis: New players that join the game in isolation have a greater yet not completely successful chance of playing. Vice versa, new players that join the game accompanied by a current player have a lesser chance of eventually joining and enjoying the game.
*NOTE: If you observed, I left out people who try playing it in groups of new players. I'm not trying this until after the isolation step of the recruiting process. I would not guarantee, however, the success of this tactic. I'm making an educated guess that isolation is the best way to get someone into the game.*
Observations: While Subject B tried the game for a first time, I tried talking to him throughout his Spiral session, and I showed him some higher level spells. I also showed him some housing, which he seemed to like. However, he always had satirical comments to make about the game, such as how it's aimed for younger gamers. He didn't seem too attracted.
Now, Subject A (trying the game a second time) seemed to like the game better this time. At first, I wasn't totally under the impression that he was intrigued in the game, and I thought the experiment had taken a wrong turn for the worse. I tried my best not to play with him too much, only answering questions. This was also assisted by the fact that I was busy talking to Subject B. However, when we finished the session, he said that he LOVED it. He explained his bored looking face as being "too zoned in to concentrate on his facial expressions,".
Conclusion: So, if Subject A is not lying to make me feel better (I pressed him pretty hard, so I semi-believe it), my hypothesis was correct; the method of isolation has a better chance of manifesting a love for the game inside the new player. So, I'm going to try this attempt on Subject B and see how that goes. If this experiment doesn't work with Subject B, it will prove that this method does not work 100% of the time.
How was that? Haha! I tried my best with the experiment; Subject C still hasn't been introduced to the game yet. My method with Subject C is another method of recruiting; popularity. I know that even extreme amounts of initial isolation wouldn't help him. Therefore, I'm aiming to try and hook both Subjects A and B. Once that happens, I'm going to have them press him to join us. This is also another method of recruiting, however, I do not have feedback yet on this type, so I would not take this as a definite yes. However, it is definitely a good method if you are trying to get three or four other people to join, and you only have one or two others remaining. As someone once said, 'There's strength in numbers."
So I'll be sure to update you on that experiment! I have to go right now; I've been spending a fair amount of hours on this post ;) I'll see ya,
Observing the Celestian Observatory
Hey Gang,
So I see my new intro is spreading a bit :) awesome!
Anyway, so Friday night's gaming night was awesome! I went to bed a little earlier than anticipated (about an hour xD) but I figure 3:00 in the morning wasn't so bad ;). Mycin, now after another few crafting sessions, has 2/2 Celestian Shields, 4/4 Celestian Sconces, 3/3 Celestian Tree Sprigs, 6/8 Star Chalices, and 0/7 Crystal Street Lamps. My next two items that I craft will be the last two Star Chalices, and then it's to the Street Lamps! I can't believe I'm almost done really. My next objective after completing this will be the Watchtower Hall. When I last looked at the recipe, the only thing I could do was this: "O. O".
Yeah, but I've definitely come a long way while collecting these reagents. I've grasped an understanding of how hard it is to craft an awesome item. It's really enlightened me, and I think I'm going to try to craft more things, such as the level 55 (or 60, I forget) decks that you can get from the Floating Lands. And I must thank Paige MoonShade; she had a post up on her blog that inspired me even more to craft this Celestian Observatory. She's really awesome.
Now, I would list some tips on collecting these reagents necessary for the Observatory, but I'm saving that for my next segment on the Ambrose 2 Zeke podcast! So stay tunned for when that's gonna release.
Ok, I really wish I could stay and jabber some more, but I gotta go do some house cleaning IRL. I'll see you guys!
I've Got That Boom Chika Shroom!
Hey Everyone,
So, I can't really talk about whats in the Test Realm right now cause I'm short on time, but check for another post in about 3-4 hours. That's when I shall give my opinion! So, check it! (by the way, the top is where I am at now, the bottom is the begining where you start ;D ) :
Be back soon!
Master Artisan and Manor Idea (Also Thanksgiving Idea)
Hey Everyone,
So, I have a lot to get through today. As I've been saying, I'm sorry for the lack posts, I promise I will post more as soon as the holidays end. So, let's get started!
1. Thanksgiving Letters- This is a little idea that I've thought up and that I'm going to do myself (be warned there is a lot of writing that must be done). Write letters to whoever is important to you on Thanksgiving saying why you are thankful to have them and what traits you like the best about them. It could be anyone; your parents, your grandparents, your cousins, everyone, or even just a slect group, such as the adults of the family or the kids. I have to write 8. O. O I think writers will like this idea a lot. Just a little something that you could do to show that you care for your family! :)
2. Master Artisan- That's right folks, Mycin StarGem, my Storm wizard, officaly gained the rank of Master Artisan! W00t! congrats to Mycin! He is now trying to build the Watchtower Hall, as well as working on the GrandMaster Artisan quest! I must say, I really hate Blood Moss, and I want to thank Alura HexCaster for helping me get all the Blood Moss I needed as well as Fallon MoonGem and Scarlet MoonFlower for helping me with spawn-points for red mandrake! I also want to thank Wolf IceHunter for getting me crafting in the first place! :D
3. Feudal System- A world I really want to see is a Transylvania (spell check?) world. Here, we'd meet famous monsters like werewolves (new Death/Moon spell?), vampires (Dracula!), and other creatures of the night. Point aside, I'd like to talk about housing for this world. I want KingsIsle to go beyond the regular cottage/mansion idea. And for my idea, this would be the perfect world to install this addition!
So, who here has heard of a feudal system? For those that don't know, a feudal system, otherwise known as a feef or a manor, is basically a huge piece of land with an amazingly big castle. There are other elements, but I want to work from the basics, and go up from there.
So, in essence, how big would this piece of land be? It would probably be two MFPs (Mega Fantasy Palaces) combine. Yep, that big. The castle would be about two insides of the MFPs combined as well (well, maybe not that same structre, but you get what I mean; space wise). It would probably have mulitple bedrooms, a dining hall, a ball room, a kitchen, etc. And you would own all of this.
How much would this cost? 250,000 gold (I'm not sure if the cap is lower than that right now, I think it is, but the cap would have to be raised). Yeah, thats a lot. Is it worth it? If KingsIsle built in what I am about to tell you, it definitely is.
Ok, lets visit another element of the Manor. Now that you know how big this piece of land is, I am going to devise it into three sections. One section we already know; that is the lord's (owner's) castle. We are now going to visit the 2nd part, which I think is one of the most unique features of this castle.
This second section would be something like a neighborhood. In feudal lands, way back in the middle ages, people would stay on a lord's manor. Well, wizards could stay on another wizards manor (sorry if I'm not doing a good job at explaining this. I understand this concept is strange, but please, bear with me). The house they could live in would be about the size of a Wooded Cottage (smallest house in WC), and you would be able to have upi to 20 of these houses in your "neighborhood".
So, would you have to pay anything if you lived on another wizard's manor? Theoretically, yes. I think here is where people start getting confused and not liking this idea much. You would have to pay your lord a "monthly" fee. Now, this monthly fee can be payed several ways:
1. Straight-Up Gold: This would probably be the least benefical way to pay your lord (you will see why). The payment would probably be around 1,000 gold a month. Now, notice, its not that expensive. Some wizards might chose this way because there is less work involved. However, as I am about to tell you, there are other ways to pay your lord that could benefit you in the long run.
2. Reagents: You could pay your lord in materials or reagents. This would be more benefical to you because the extra reagents you found you could keep. This also could go the same way with pet snacks. How would the payment be settled? Probably depending on the rank. I could turn in 100 rank 1 pet snacks or reagents, or I could turn in 10 rank 4 or 5 pet snacks or reagents. There's a ton of decision :).
So, why would I want to stay on someone's Manor if I could have my own house? This is where the 3rd part of the land comes in, and thats farming land. Here, you could place housing items such as Ore mines, Corn fields, Forges, etc. They would have sigils, and you go in and collect the piles of reagents/pet snacks that await.
So, say I had an Ore mine. Once every 12 or 24 hours, I could go in and get all the ore that awaits in the Ore mine. Now, I have the ore to pay my lord, and even when I have enough to pay, I could keep going in to get some for myself. Cool, right?
How would you pay your lord? There would be a box (probably in the dining room) that you could interact with. You chose the form of payment, and you drop your stuff in!
Now, these are just the basics. More could go into this. Like raiding, neighborhoods of manors, etc. I gotta go, so maybe I'll do another post on this soon. See ya!
New Changes to Test Realm and Possible Release Date for CELESTIA!!!!!
Hey Everyone,
So the Test Realm has undergone some more changes. What may these changes be, you may ask me.
Well, first off, Wild Bolt was changed ... again. Its accuracy was not changed, however, the amount of damage it dealt has been changed. The attack has now been changed from 1,10,100, or 1000 damage to just 100 or 1000 damage.
What do I think about this?
....
I'm truly undecided. See, it is too powerful in some ways and not enough in others; kind of like an awkward balance. I took Mycin to Unicorn Way to test it out a bit and see what the chances were of hitting 1000 damage. The first time, I got 1000 damage. Then I got 100 damage. Then, I started getting 10 damage. ..? I thought this was taken out? Yeah, so that's a bug, so make sure to report that. Anyway, I did 1 1000 damage, 2 100 damages, and 3 10 damages, so it looks like it's kinda even. We shall see how long that lasts...
Oh, by the way, about the poll ..... yeah, if you have changed your mind, just change your answer; I don't feel like putting up a whole entire new poll :P Hey, it was a hard Monday, don't judge me!
Anyway, another update that was made to the Test Realm was the changing of the level 55 wands. They used to give +2 Power Pips, and then KI changed it to +1 Power Pip. Everyone (including me) got angry because, well, you might as well use your DragonSpyre wands then. So KingsIsle has just changed it to +1 Power Pip AND +30 Crit points! W00t!
Oh, before I get into opinions on this change, I want to kinda explain a "Crit For Dummies" Tip, because before tonight I didn't know this. If you go over your crit chance, you will see x (its different for every person). However, in yellow, there should be a percentage. The level 55 wand actually gives +6% Crit, which isn't bad. 100% Crit is having 500 Crit points. Very good system, KI :)
Ok, so, now, what do people think of the level 55 wands? Two of my good friends, Paige MoonShade and Paige Whisper, say they love it! Another player that you might know that likes it as well is a guy named Logan MythWraith (You may have heard of him through the video I made about Medusa). I haven't really seen many people that have said they don't like it yet, so that's a good sign! :) I like it too; it gives us a chance to try out the Crit system.
Ok, so yeah, just play a ton on the Test Realm. Report every and any glitches you find and fast! Why? BECAUSE IF EVERYTHING GOES WELL, CELESTIA WILL BE OUT ON THE LIVE REALM OCTOBER 27 AKA WEDNESDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
*Explodes*
YUPP! We've been waiting for it for about 1 year and 4 months now, and it is finally almost here! So get ready to plunge in! I'll see ya in Celestia!
My First Post On Blogspot
Hey Everyone,
So, as some of you might know, I run a blog on (Wizard101)Central called The Pyromancer's Digest. I made a parallel my blog on Central, that way I don't have to obey all of their restrictions on talking.
Ok, so with that said, lets talk:
So, I finally got my charger today! I was getting so mad, I wanted to punch someone in the face lol (Yeah, I know, I got anger issues)
So, today, KI finally gave us more crowns to use the hatchery! w00t! So, I used these new crowns to mix my danger hound with my Helephant. Well, I was so excited, but after waiting an hour for it to hatch, it was......... another danger hound.
You have no idea how mad I was. Lol
Well, I'm not gonna spend much time on this, because it makes me so sad, but I'm probably ending my blog on Central. The post is here.
However, I'm really looking forward to building up this blog. So, hopefully, I have something to talk about tomorrow since I didn't really have anything today. See you later!
P.D.
